My job is to bring out in people what they wouldn't dare do themselves. I like things simple. Nostalgia is a very complicated subject for me. I'm attracted by nostalgia but I refuse it intellectually.

I want people to be afraid of the women I dress. I am not interested in shock tactics. I just want to make beautiful clothes. My job is to bring out in people what they wouldn't dare do themselves. It pains me physically to see a woman victimized, rendered pathetic, by fashion. We live in an era of globalization and the era of the woman. Never in the history of the world have women been more in control of their destiny.

Success isn't about the end result, it's about what you learn along the way. Fashions fade, style is eternal. I'm used to always deciding everything myself. It's a blessing, but also a terrible defect. Attitude is everything. I would like the people that buy my clothes to understand that for me it's one small piece of art.

I feel that things happen for a reason and open up new opportunities. Those fashion designers are just crazy; but aren't we all? I love the 2000s because everyone started to love haute couture. My dresses are very reasonably priced, for dresses that are cut on the body. We look our best in subdued colors, sophisticated cuts, and a general air of sleek understatement.
